Description
Vintage Voigtländer HELIAR 480mm f 4.5 for 8x10 10x12 11x14 12x20 16x20 Portrait lens click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge HELIAR: Hans Harting came up with this design while trying to create a symmetrical modification of the Cooke Triplet (in 1893 H. Dennis Taylor developed the triplet. Taking a thin positive element and a thin negative element and putting them together would neutralize each other, and create a zero Petzval sum. Consisting of 5 elements in three groups, Harting replaced the single rear element of the Triplet with a cemented doublets, allowing him to correct for spherical, chromatic, astigmatic aberrations and the Petzval sum, leaving the symmetry of the lens to correct the three transverse aberrations. This 480 mm lens is ideal for your 8x10 10x12 and 11x14 interior portrait or general landscape and architechture shot . (650-680mm sharp image circle, lluminating 12x20 and 16x20 ).Heliar is actually up to its rputation both as a portrait lens with the ability to render appealing texture and and also a universal lens to render transparent and harmony feeling. The prints are simply attractive to look at, like kingdom in fairy tales. The negatives from heliar lenses usually have larger potentials for enlargement than tessar or zeiss protar. The Emperor Shōwa Tennō of Japan liked so much the results provided by the Heliar lens that he wouldn't allow his picture to be taken with any other type of lens.size :95mm glass in crystal NEW condition , NO seperation which is not uncommon for helair type , no fungus, no visible scratch . Both lens barrel and glass in new condtion, with silky smooth iris blades . It is complete with lens cap, front hood and mounting flange for 16.5-17cm lens board. It is really near impossible to find such a neice Helair in 48cm focal length. The serial nubmer indicate it was born on Nov 6,1906 , being among the earliest heliar production and original design items. It is of aluminum barrel, relatively light weight for a gigantic lens.' Heliar 48cm 1:4.5 ,D.R.P. 124394 '' Voigtländer & Sohn Braunschweig No.85467 'The glass is full of seductive refelction from metal elements to assist in the production of tasty grey tones ,which unfortunately disappeared in modern lens productions.Helair lenses are not uncommon , but absolutely a enjoyable and creative lens to use.http://www.antiquecameras.net/heliarlenses.htmlTestimonial:"....I have a couple Heliars and they are a kind of lenses I wouldn't trade off as the images has that clearity with softness and they are perfect to create some nice moody effects. Smaller the f stop is the sharper the image become. Say, sharp as any Nikon or Schneider. However non of those give you that smooth image on the large aperture than Heliar....." click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge payal and etc Item will be shipped by registered post.Local arrival within 2-4days.
