Description
I am selling an Omega Super Chromega F Dichroic II 10”X10” enlarger in near mint condition. A few scuffs from moving it around. The lamphouse incorporates a highly accurate 0-170 stepless dichroic color filtration system. Said to be virtually indestructible under constant professional use and will not fade, irrespective of heat or environmental conditions. The lamphouse is equipped with four 250 w. quartz halogen lamps; incorporating built-in dichroic reflectors. This insures uniform illumination over the full 10”x10” opening. A convenient control lever permits full power “white light” for focusing and composing. When operated, this retracts the entire filtration assembly outside the light path without disturbing filtration settings. After focusing, a flick of the lever returns the filters to their pre-selected settings. Efficient cooling is provided by a heavy-duty wall-mounted fan assembly (just for the purpose of photographing, it is shown on top of a step ladder). This connects to the lamphouse by means of a flexible coupling hose of great strength and durability. Cantilevered, 98” high quadruple aluminum girders on a welded steel base provide stability without vibration at any position of the enlarger head. The base features heavy-duty casters for easy movement and nylon, (ball-joint leveling) locking pads. The counterbalanced lamphouse is raised or lowered by means of a pushbutton-operated remote control powerlift, or optionally by the large handcrank on the side. Lever action raises or lowers the entire lamphouse for simple insertion or removal of the book-type 10”x10” glass negative carrier. The negative carrier may be rotated 180 degrees. Four way individually adjustable masks permit masking for different size negatives. The micrometer friction-drive focusing mechanism can be operated from the side or front or, when the head is in high elevation, by means of a telescoping focusing arm. Extra long bellows ( this one is in mint condition) are adjustable for extreme reductions. A warp-proof, hardwood baseboard measures 24”x32” and is usable in three convenient positions from 10” to 30” (normal working height) above floor level. This unit is truly in extremely good condition. It has never been used commercially. I bought it used from Midwest Photo Exchange a few years ago when I was seriously into large format. They received it from a family who needed to get rid of it because the retired gentleman who purchased it new, died before getting the chance to use it. I have used it only for occasional fine-art printing. It is designed to operate everyday all day. Needless to say it has only begun it’s work-life. I only shoot digital now and as with all my large-format and wet darkroom gear, I must say good-bye. This enlarger comes with a mint 300 5.6 Rodenstock Rodagon enlarging lens and mount. Including the base and wheels it stands about 8’ (feet) 4” (inches) high. I am not prepared to try and ship this thing in any way. It disassembles in an easy straight-forward fashion, and really isn’t complicated to use, but the individual components are heavy. The column itself requires a minimum of two strong individuals to carry. I don’t know the exact total weight. Heavy. This item is for pick-up only. Any cargo van would do fine. Also not sure, but I was told this unit brand new cost on the order of about $16,000 dollars, without a lens. I am asking for $2,500 including lens. Negative carrier mint, no scratches. Instruction manual included.
